I've been listening to The Clash quite a bit in the past few days -- in fact, I've got London Calling on at the moment.

I started listening to this indie pop band called The Format somewhere around two weeks ago and I'm head-over-heels obsessed with their second album, Dog Problems. So good. I cannot get enough of it. o_o

Herbie Hancock - Rockit
I picked up the GTA: Vice City Soundtrack box set today. 7CD's of the 80s in all their glory. Also been enjoying some Psychostick lately; they're a pretty funny metal band that don't take themselves so serious and actually have some fun with their music. I'm glad bands like them exist. -------------------- When someone kicks your door in it's a pretty safe bet that they aren't there to deliver a pie or give you a high five.

![]() speekina retro... i've been listening to John Prine, & Jimmy Buffett all day. you people probably don't even know who they are, but.... ![]() galoot found out too late that John Prine played in Little Rock last weekend. we SO woulda went if we woulda known. ![]() we keep seeing this commercial on TV with the song "Killing The Blues" on it. i'm pretty sure it's the Allison Krause/Robert Plant version, but we always knew it by John Prine (although apparently, some other guy wrote it, which is odd cuz he's a singer/songwriter & doesn't do a lot of covers) anyhoo, i tried to find it for days & days. they didn't even have it at iTunes. i finally found it today though! i can't wait till galoot gets home. he's gonna be so happy!!! ![]() i love when he wants something really bad, & i can find a way to get it for him. -------------------- ![]() |

Four times so far -- once in Omaha, twice in Lincoln, and once in Kansas City, MO. ![]()
I love that song. ![]()
Prine originally wrote and recorded that "Sam Stone" song that Laura Cantrell sang on Future Soundtrack For America. And I know Buffett from "Margaritaville," "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes," "Cheeseburger in Paradise," and some other stuff; plus I think he's related to billionaire Warren Buffett... ![]() I've got another Richman CD on at the moment, Not So Much To Be Loved As To Love (his most recent, although he's got a new one coming out next month called Because Her Beauty is Raw and Wild). -------------------- "I feel like the mere existence of They Might Be Giants in the world of commercial music is an untenable, unworkable idea."

ooh, that's a lot of shows! good for you!!!
![]() yeah, i didn't get Sam Stone, cuz it's so sad. it's a good song though.Cheeseburger In Paradise is kinda like Jimmy Buffett's Boss Of Me, IMO. ![]() i doubt Jimmy will get anything from Uncle Warren... since his own Granddaughter isn't gonna. (it's true. i saw it on Oprah) ![]() right now i have the news on. -------------------- ![]() |

Listening to BOA - Duvet (Click for Youtube) This song is used as the opening theme for an anime series called 'Serial Experiments Lain'.
That would be them. -------------------- When someone kicks your door in it's a pretty safe bet that they aren't there to deliver a pie or give you a high five.
