GRChereck
That's a shame. (I kinda want to see that one.) emo-tmbgtalk_ohwe.gif

Pretty neat about Sweeney Todd, though, considering that it's playing on about half as many screens as Charlie Wilson. (Not bad for an R-rated musical, either!) emo-prplhappy.gif

biff
i love when they have the guts to make an R rated movie. emo-tmbgtalk_yeah.gif

i wanna see Dewy Cox too. it'll probably disappear before i get a chance though. i guess there's always a free preview weekend... emo-tmbgtalk_dunno.gif
Mister Bones
Have you guys seen the previews for National Treasure 2? Nicolas Cage's wig alone should have kept people from wanting to see that at the theater. Can't believe it made that much money.
biff
emo-tmbgtalk_lol5.gif galoot wants to see that so bad! he likes those kind of movies.

emo-tmbgtalk_lol2.gif as long as there are teenage boys, there will be dumb satirical comedies for em. emo-11zwinky.gif

Thanks, Biff!

i didn't have anything to do with it, but you're welcome. emo-11zwinky.gif
klimdeeni
I think she meant for posting it emo-tmbgtalk_lol5.gif

it's good to see cloverfield, juno, and there will be blood still up there
i can't believe that stupid movie (meet the spartans) is #1
that's disappointing
biff
i know klim. i was teasing. emo-11zwinky.gif

i bet the Spartans won't stay #1 for long...

GRChereck
Yeesh, The Spartans and Rambo dropped pretty fast! emo-tmbgtalk_lol2.gif

That's kinda funny about the Hannah Montana thing, too, considering that it only played on some 300-400 screens. (It didn't even play in Omaha -- our IMAX theater doesn't have the technology to handle feature-length stuff.)

biff
i saw a thing in a magazine that was saying she could be a billionaire within 5 years. emo-tmbgtalk_eek00000000.gif all the little girls are crazy about her. emo-tmbgtalk_nut.gif

actually, i think it was pretty cool of her to make that movie for all the little kids who couldn't afford tickets to one of her shows. hopefully they'll make it to where it can be shown everywhere. emo-CROSSFINGER.GIF

i've never seen Hannah Montana, but anything that keeps a kid busy for an hour or so is ok in my book. emo-tmbgtalk_lol2.gif

(but i'm glad i had boys & they're all grown up) emo-11zwinky.gif

grr I hate Matthew Mcconaughey
he's the biggest idiot I've ever seen!
I was hoping his movie would tank fast
GRChereck
I had to sit through a trailer for it when I went to see Sweeney Todd, and I thought it looked pretty stupid. emo-tmbgtalk_rolleyes2.gif

Glad to see There Will Be Blood still hanging in there, though! emo-prplhappy.gif

klimdeeni
there will be blood was really good! I recommend it
biff
i saw/heard nothing but bad reviews for Fool's Gold. i bet it drops out of the top 10 pretty quick. emo-tmbgtalk_dunno.gif

~ it might just be me, & alls i saw of it was the trailer on TV, but 10,000 BC looked really stoopid... not to mention totally unrealistic. emo-tmbgtalk_nut.gif

but hey... that's Hollywood for ya. emo-tmbgtalk_lol2.gif
Mister Bones
You can usually tell which movie is going to be on top by rottentomatoes.com. If it has a very low score, it's pretty much a given it's going to make the most money that weekend. 10,000 B.C. itself has a 07% rating. emo-tmbgtalk_crazylaugh.gif
biff
emo-lmao.gif i need to go there sometime... emo-tmbgtalk_bigblush.gif
GRChereck
I'd recommend it. emo-tmbgtalk_thumbup.gif (RottenTomatoes, that is -- 10,000 BC I couldn't care less about.) emo-tmbgtalk_lol5.gif

That Semi-Pro dropped awfully fast... emo-tmbgtalk_yeah.gif

biff
yeah, i think Will's sports parody movies are starting to wear a little thin. emo-tmbgtalk_dunno.gif
klimdeeni
he's a funny guy, but "famous idiot loses job and then makes a come back" story is a bit tired now
I'm not sure if that's what semi-pro is about, but talladega, anchorman, and blades was like all the same story line. they were funny, but they're getting less and less funny
biff
repetition will do that. emo-tmbgtalk_nut.gif

they don't even come up with ANYTHING on there own.
they copy other movies, try to add a fart joke or something, and claim it as something original.

it's so stupid
biff
emo-0tmbgtalk_roflmao.gif i guess it doesn't matter that much to me, cuz i go to like one movie a year. emo-tmbgtalk_freak.gif

i don't have HBO, so i never watched Sex & The City... & when it came out in reruns on regular TV i never started. i figured it would be all cut up on regular TV. anyhoo, i have never been so sick of hearing about an upcoming movie in my whole life! emo-tmbgtalk_rolleyes2.gif last week, Entertainment Weekley devoted their entire issue to Sex & The City. emo-tmbgtalk_eek00000000.gif aside from the letters to the editor, & the reviews, i skipped the whole thing.

if i wasn't getting it for free, i totally would have written them to say that "the Emperor has ugly clothes". emo-11zwinky.gif cuz i mean seriously, have you seen some of the crap Carrie wore in that thing? emo-vomit-1.gif

but, if you are a fan, i hope it was good for you. emo-greensmile.gif it made the most money an R rated movie has ever made on it's opening weekend, ever.

& now, hopefully, everybody can talk about something else. emo-0tmbgtalk_whew.gif

I've never been a Hulk fan so I was pretty amused when Edward Norton said he hated his own film.

biff

yeah, I usually completely disagree with what critics say, so I don't worry too much about it. I think people are just too picky or closed minded or something. Usually say if it's a good movie, I like it, but over half the time, I like movies they say suck
biff
yeah, critics aren't always right. i bet in the case of The Love Guru they will be though. emo-greensmile.gif

(the ones i read didn't HATE The Happening, they just didn't LOVE it) emo-11zwinky.gif

That's great about WALL*E, too. emo-tmbgtalk_thumbup.gif (It sounds like it might be a good story... Plus, that little robot reminds me so much of the one in Short Circuit. emo-tmbgtalk_lol2.gif )
