i don't know if anybody's been watching the Olympics, but Michael Phelps just won his 8th gold medal, beating Mark Spitz' record that's stood for like 36 years or something.

I watched the race and thought it was pretty kewl. They did say that he's got like 16 now or something, and passed up some Soviet for most medals by a male athlete. A female Soviet had 18 so she's still ahead of him, though. But pretty amazing he won 8 of 8 gold medals with 7 world records.
