Full Version: So what have you been playing lately?
ignatz
I pulled out the ol' Sega Saturn last week, and I have been playing Sim City 2000 and Command and Conquer. I really think the Saturn is much better than people give it credit for. I may pull out NiGHTS tonight. That should cheer me up!

I played Kingdom Hearts 2 on PS2 for like 4 hours straight today. First time I've played video games other than Guitar Hero in like a year. I might start playing Final Fantasy X again also. Or play through Guitar Hero 3.

since Nathan brought the Wii, he & galoot have been playing Mario nonstop. emo-emot-LOL.gif i even had to watch the news in the man cave last night. emo-tmbgtalk_eek00000000.gif

(i didn't mind. i kinda like watching TV in there cuz it's so close. i can read everything on the screen) emo-thumbsup.gif
Mister Bones
I rarely play video games these days but I did beat Tomb Raider: Anniversary the other day. Even though it's a remake of the first game, it feels like a completely different entity because of the improved graphics and gameplay.

emo-congrat.gif is't always so great to beat one. emo-prplhappy.gif

I've been playing MVP Baseball 2005 almost constantly. I just finished my first season in Owner Mode, taking my Detroit Tigers to a 99-63 record and World Series victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in 6 games. I finished up the off-season and got started on Spring Training afterwards. Amazing I only bought the game about less than a month ago. It's just such an amazing game, despite the age. I can't wait until EA Sports can make another game for this series, they are truly the best at baseball games.

I started a new account for Kingdom of Loathing for over break. I always listen to the Apollo 18 album for some reason when I play that game. Like I don't want to play unless I can play and listen to Apollo 18 emo-tmbgtalk_lol5.gif so I made my new account name Apollo18.
Lord PichuPal
I shall have to go back there again and add you now, since I have no friends on there.
Ore4444
I don't usually play video game, not at all.
But I got hooked on this game called Deus Ex recently.
It's like the most amazing game in the world...

I've been playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on Jonathan's PS3 (he downloaded it) we played through and beat it taking turns, but I'm still trying to get all the items and secrets I missed.

I played Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal at my sister's place today, just a casual tryout, but she gave me the game and a stack of others she doesn't play anymore, so now all I need is a PS2, but Jonathan said I can take his since he has PS3 now, I just have to get around to going over there and hauling it back. Trouble is it's usually the middle of the night when I leave there and I don't feel like getting mugged.

I recently played through the original Mega Man recently, ah memories!
Lord PichuPal
I just got a PS2 of my own today for Christmas along with some really good games for it. Had Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, NHL 08, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, and NFL Head Coach and my dad was given Fight Night Round 3 for it also. I sucked so bad when I played Guitar Hero again, and then somehow I got pretty good at Easy and now it's not as big a challenge for me anymore. I'm really loving that game, and also hooked on Battletoads lately. Namely the first two games of the series, through rom since it's easier.

Well now I'm playing Metroid Prime 3. It's real good even if it is a little too much like Halo. I hope the whole game isn't like that!

P.S. You can tell that Samus is a girl because she's gotta have a space ship that matches her space suit emo-tmbgtalk_dancesmiley.gif

i'm addicted to my little 20Q game that Pam got me. emo-tmbgtalk_bigblush.gif it's not really a video game, but...

& galoot is still playing Mario on the Wii ad nauseum. the music is starting to drive me a little nuts. emo-tmbgtalk_nut.gif i wish he'd beat this level.
lajoyce
emo-tmbgtalk_lol5.gif Is it super mario galaxy? That game looks fun.

I've been playing Sega Genesis (old!) a bunch. Sonic & Knuckles 3 a lot. I have a Genesis emulator on my computer, but I used to play the real thing with my cousins a lot years ago.
klimdeeni
I've been playing lots of Portal
it's awesomeness!!! emo-tmbgtalk_grnbiggrin.gif

yeah, that's the one. emo-thumbsup.gif

i really don't mind. he only gets to play the Wii when the kids bring it. he deserves his fun. he works so hard. i just like to tease him about it.... cuz i'm evil. emo-evilgrin0009999.gif

Noah loves Sega Genesis. he has a ton of old video game systems. he's a collector. emo-prplhappy.gif

i never heard of Portal. what system is it on? emo-tmbgtalk_hmm.gif
lajoyce
I know Portal is on PC. Is it on anything else?

I played it with my friend. Its sooo cool. I don't think my laptop could handle it though (1.6ghz pentium m processor, 512mb ram, some weak mobile intel graphics card that came with it)
klimdeeni
portal is in the orange box which is on ps3 and 360
i have it for ps3
ignatz
Well right now I'm playing through a bunch of awful games so I can write about them for my video game blog. I'm trying not to do so many Atari Jaguar games anymore because they are way too easy!

emo-tmbgtalk_lol5.gif i never heard about that blog. emo-tmbgtalk_eek00000000.gif

wooooo tomb raider!! is the Anniversary really that good?

i, myself, have FINALLY gotten The Sims 2 for Christmas. I thought I'd never get the game after buying The Sims 1 and all of the expansions, but it was cheap enough to finally get and not feel sorry about. emo-tmbgtalk_lol2.gif so that's what i've been playing. emo-prplhappy.gif
FirestarterCL
Playing Uncharted again on PS3... and thats about it. I haven't had much time for games lately. emo-Sad_anim.gif
Lord PichuPal
I've been mixed up between GH3, Arena Football: Road to Glory, and as of late again MVP Baseball 2005. But I still find time for all my roms on the computer here for old skool gaming.
Cronny
I beat Bioshock last night. And I've been playing Call of Duty 4.
Main Squeeze
I've been playing the following on Nintendo DS

Animal Crossing
The Simpsons
My Sims

I got sick of Super Mario Bros after being stuck on the second to last level for about 6 months.
ignatz
Well right now I'm playing Sega Master System a lot. I forgot how much fun that thing was! I also forgot how many games I had for it. I've mostly been playing Wonderboy 3 and Bomber Raid. Classic stuff.
klimdeeni
Assassin's Creed
pretty cool emo-tmbgtalk_grnbiggrin.gif
Verminous Countenance
Back into WoW these days, when they're patching I play Bioshock.
klimdeeni
I wish they had Bioshock for PS3
Verminous Countenance
I play on a PC mostly. I still have about 10 JRPGs on my PS2 to finish. And some day I plan on finishing CoC on my Xbox.

So this thread hasn't been posted in in a loooong time, but currently I am playing Super Mario Galaxy on Wii. Its awesome! Really interesting, novel gameplay. I'd call it groundbreaking in the way that Mario 64 was.
klimdeeni
yeah that game is awesome, I'm collecting all the stars again as Luigi
supposedly there's an extra level after you collect all the stars as both mario and luigi

soon I'll be playing guitar hero for DS in a few days
Cronny
(Hey, klim, if you hadn't heard, Bioshock's coming to the PS3 emo-tmbgtalk_naughty2.gif)

I'm playing SO much Mario Kart Wii right now! It's insanely fun and challenging and addictive. emo-tmbgtalk_thumbup.gif
lajoyce
my new roommates have ridiculous amounts of video games- wii, ps3, xbox, ps2, n64, snes. Wii kart is pretty awesome- my friend has it at his house. I think that the steering wheel controller thing makes it way harder to play though!
ladognome
I'm playing Sam and Max (and i'm expecting the old LucasArts version in the mail via eBay).
I also enjoy playing Heroes of Might and Magic V and Oblivion sometimes.
I guess it just depends on my mood.

I finished The Longest Journey recently. It was pretty good. I just wish the graphics and voice acting weren't so bad. So I'm asking for the sequel for Christmas; I figure the graphics have to be better. emo-emot-LOL.gif
ignatz
Ah Sam and Max! I remember the tv show from the 90s with John "Gomez" Astin as the voice of the dog (I can never remember which is which!). I always really enjoyed it but I've never played any of the games. I hope you're enjoying it!
Lord PichuPal
Recently for me it's been a lot of the original Japanese Power Pros 3 for my SNES emulator. I'm so close to finishing my season with the Yomiuri Giants that I get sucked into playing it more often. But also been playing my rom of NHL 98 for Genesis and occasionally some Ninja Turtles roms to mix it up. But sometimes still play my Xbox with my Cubs on MVP Baseball 2005 or Madden 06 with my NFL Superstar John Richards who is with Buffalo. Also got addicted to Azure Dreams for Playstation again recently, but sort of cooled off from that again. Oh yeah, and a lot of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time.
ignatz
In addition to Metroid Prime 3 I've been playing Shadow Hearts: From the New World. That game was much better after I really learned how to play it. However, now I'm at the very end. I'm notorious for getting to the end of RPGs and then stop playing. I hope that doesn't happen this time!
Main Squeeze
The other day I was playing Wii sports with my friends' kids and the next morning I could barely move my arm!

I've been playing Animal Crossing and Mario Kart a lot but I really need another DS game, I'm so bored of all mine. I quite like Jam Session, lots of fun but a bit too hard to change the chord pallette.
biff
you know... you don't really have to make the actual motions when you play the Wii. it's all just a flick of the wrist. emo-11zwinky.gif
Lord PichuPal
I've been playing plenty of RPGs lately. Breath of Fire II (suggested to me by Angel), a little more Illusion of Gaia again (also from Angel) a while back), and now a lot of Mother 3 now that the fan translation is finally finished after 2 years. The Earthbound fan site Starmen.net finished their translation patch that allows you to play the Mother 3 rom in English since the game is only released in Japan, so the rom is only in Japanese. But now because we have this translator patch, we can play the game in English until they finally bring the game to America.
