Umm...forgive me if this is old news, I'm new to this board.


I was reading up on TMBG on Wikipedia, and when I got to the entry on the Don't Let's Start EP, there was a footnote at the end mentioning an upcoming movie of the same title being released sometime in '08.

I was skeptical, so I imdb'd it and found that it is real. At least one character is also named for a TMBG song (Anna Ng) and allegedly others, but that's the only one I know of. Also it appears to be a TROMA movie!

Any way the next place I looked was You Tube where the makers have posted a fundraising trailer and a sample scene. It appears to be an amaturish attempt at kevin smith type material. It is definitely the work of a fan, one character is seen wearing a TMBG t-shirt, and there is a line of dialogue that mentions having tickets to see a TMBG show. However, I didn't recognize any TMBG music in either the trailer or the sample scene. I won't assume that they won't secure any by the time of its release, however I'm taking the lack of as a sign that this isn't licensed or advocated by the real TMBG. I can't assume that they don't have the guys' blessings, but I won't assume that they do either.

If anyone knows any more about it, or if anything I posted is incorrect or untrue let me know.

in an unrelated whatever... i downloaded some icons the other day, & one of the ones in the "Head Check" collection is called Chess Piece Face. i need to email the person who made em to see if they're a fan.

I'm a regular visitor to IMDb, and I didn't know about this before -- I'll be checking that page for updates (not every day, because that would drive me nuts... Just every once in a while).

That's awesome. If that doesn't have a TMBG-filled soundtrack I'm gonna be indignant.

I haven't heard of the movie, but i did run into a group called Don't Let's Start on MySpace about 1/2 a year ago...and they did make movies. i don't know if it's the same group or not, but i certainly wouldn't be surprised if it is. they movies they had on their MySpace didn't seem extremely TMBG-related so i didn't dig too deeply...
