Full Version: Lousy energy bill!
I hate how the second it gets cold outside my gas bill instantly goes up. I really didn't use my heat all that much in November or December but my bill is almost double what it was last time!
That stinks. My gas bill was the same as it was when it was warm. I think it might have to do with the fact that our landlord controls the heat and we can't turn it off or anything.
I got overcharged on my past phone bill. The phone co. said to just pay it and eventually we'll get credited.

gas has gone up so much that you probably wouldn't have to use much heat for it to double. 
i'm glad we're all electric at my house.
you could use your space heater more...

I have all electric too, but we have vaulted cealings, which plays havock with the electric bill. Plus one 12 foot section of wall that is all window, doesn't help any either.

i'm in a mobile home. it's a 2004, so it holds the heat in better than our old one did. my bill is always higher than my Mom's though, & her house is huge.
(and very well made, cuz my brothers built it)
here's my gripe today... frozen water pipes! i had to go out to the well house & put our space heater out there to thaw em out. it looks like it's working. the water in the sink is starting to run a little now.
i had to call galoot at work.

Well it's still nothing compared to the ones we used to get at the old house. I remember getting a gas bill that was almost 300 dollars! And that wasn't even during a month where I accidentally left the oven on. We had electric heat, but a gas stove and water heater. I still have no idea why it was so much money. You know we don't take that many showers.

i got our water all thawed out.
that was a stressful 30 minutes.

but yeah, it is lame.Also because the roommate I really don't like took it upon herself to be in charge of the bills. Its a really touchy subject at our apartment. At first she would pay all the bills, then expected me to pay her without showing me any of the bills at all, and when I asked to see the bill she would get cagey and change the subject. Then finally I guess she really wanted the money, so there was a big fight. I just don't understand some people.
She does her bills by email, so now she forwards me screenshots or something of the bill. She still makes a stink about it too. I don't know wtf her problem is.
If my name wasn't on a one year lease I would have already moved out of there.
Oh well. I look at it as a learning experience in dealing with people I hate (which is kinda rare, I can get along with almost everybody)
